Scenes from our last days in Nairobi:
Sooooo much fun shopping at the Triangle market, bargaining hard with the vendors. We had so much fun that we overlooked the fact that we have to figure out how to carry back an extra passenger.
Our wonderful hotel in Nairobi, the Fairview, with its many intimate sitting areas, winding paths, and foliage
….and friendly cats, I might add
A visit to the animal orphanage, where apparently it is necessary to inform us how honest they are (if you’ve got to ask….)
Sadly, these were the only real lions we saw; orphans who will probably spend the rest of their lives in the orphanage, although I hope they will one day be released into the neighboring Nairobi National Wildlife Park.
The ever present, sad reality of Kenya
A visit to Africa Nazarene University, where Betty is earning her B.A. In commerce
What a great trip. And what an inspiration the two of you are. You’ve made such a difference in a young person’s life.
Wow! you are up to date with your photos!
The world of the electronics and the cloud is an amazing place!
You have given hope where it was deserved.
Just got’a love those cats ;) What proud parent you are, and what a pretty and smart daughter you have. I am sure Betty will go far and accomplish all she reaches for with wonderful parents like you standing beside her. :)
I’ve really enjoyed all your pics and posts and you do know when we both are back at school I am going to drop by and hear about more. :)
It’s so cool to me that people are actually interested in hearing this story. And keeping the blog has been really good for me, to keep the journey clear in my mind.
Caryn and Richard, it would be difficult for one to see your deeds and part without a comment!
Thank you but frankly, we couldn’t have done it without Betty :-)
Without any doubt! But the courage that made come all this way is amazing!
