We arrived in Tokyo just fine but Richard’s wallet didn’t; he lost it somewhere between the airport and Shibuya. A sorry landing but our first time ever traveling to have this happen. I figured we had a 70/30 chance of getting it back, this being Japan, and this being Tokyo, where the number of foreigners, especially in Shibuya, is higher than elsewhere in the country (nothing against foreigners, but Japan’s reputation for honesty is parallel to none) – otherwise I would have set the odds higher in favor of the wallet’s return.
We found a temple in the urban jungle ..
and thought it best to give an offering and enlist the help of the kamisama.
Amazingly, Japan Rail had the wallet and we got it back. I just can’t imagine where else in the world this would be the outcome.
